We believe that sustainability should start with people. At Serenity Ha Giang we care deeply about our team and make sure they truly understand the heart of our mission: to do travel with kindness.
We actively reduce environmental impact, create sustainable job opportunities for local residents, and educate both our clients and the community about the importance of environmental conservation.

Three things we put money behind
Clean water for neighbours
Clean water access is a real problem in Ha Giang, so we have invested in clean water storage for local communities - not only for guests, but for the villages our route passes through.
Sustainable local jobs
We create paid, lasting work for local residents and teach both guests and the community why conservation matters here. The Hmong, Tay, Dao and Lolo families on the route are partners, not scenery.

Questions before you go
Frequently asked questions
No. Buying beds, meals and repairs on the route costs about what buying them anywhere else costs - it just puts the money in a different pocket. What does cost us is the group size cap, and we would rather carry that than fill the road.
Guides and riders are on salary rather than per-head commission. Beds, dinners and bike repairs are bought from families on the route at the price they set. Ask the office for the breakdown on the route you are looking at and we will send it.
Some of them, on some dates. We will not build a village visit into an itinerary as a photo stop - if a visit is welcome that week, the guide will say so.
